Equipment of W.P.

Bellow you will find a list of the items that will be necessary to build correct regular infantry impression.

- Tunic wz.36. (canvas and wool)
- Trousers wz.37 straight leg (canvas and wool) - Wool Great coat
- Helmet wz.31. (proper color with Salamandra finish, three finger liner and quiick realese chinstrap.
- Rogatywka cap wz.37,with embroider eagle. No metal eagle or modern eagle.
- Khaki color short putties aka "owijki" wz.37 - Backpack wz.35 aka "Kostka" early post war are aceptable
- Five Utility straps (natural color leather stitched not riveted for attachment of greatcoat or blanket and mess kit to the back pack.)
- Bread bag wz.33 (inside bread bag following items were carried: canteen, cup, towel, food and 4 hand grenades.
- Gas Mask with bag wz 32. No RSC gas mask allowed.
- Belt, made of leather, stiched with roller buckle
- Pair of ammo pouches, (WW I German Style with D-rings, natural color)
- Polish universal Bayonet frog - Shovel with leather carrier (Polish or WWI Austrian shovel)
- Rifle: original Polish wz.98a, German WWI GEW 98 or Czech vz.98/22 with WWI sling.
- Bayonet. There were several models of the Polish bayonets, wz.22, wz.24, wz.27, wz.28 (later renamed wz.29).
- Mess kit.
- Canteen. Wz.37
- Cup. Polish canteens were not issued with cups but separate one was provided, it was a coppy of German WWI cup
- Fork spoon combo. German WWI and WWII are same.
- Dog tag
- ID tag - Tent
- rain poncho. Similar to WWI Austrian or Pre WWII Czech (no camo please)
- Shirt, white linen pull over white shirt with stand up collar, closed by 3 to 5 small buttons on the front.
- Boots. Only ankle boots! Originally made of brown leather but should be dye to black. Leather sole, hobnails and iron plates on the heels are must.

Before you spend money on anything contact me as I don't want you to purchase somtning that is incorrect..
If you are not sure ask, ask, ask. I will try to provide as much info as I can gather.

Packing of wz. 33 Back Pack (tornister)
Loading of the back pack is done in layer starting from the bottom of the pack in a way so it is comfortable for the wearer.
a) First layer: shirt, underpants, towel, chankechive, extra shoe laces, foot wraps.
b) second layer: coffee bag, one "R" food portion, crackers bag, shelter half.
c) third layer: saw kit and cleaning kit, rifle cleaning kit.
b) under the flap in the packet: extra ammunition.
d) On the back pack: great coat, helmet, 5 utility straps, mess kit.

Ends of the utility straps are placed in way so the end will not stick out, by rolling them toward the pack.
Helmet is strapped to the pack by means of the chinstrap. Chinstrap is paled between the pack and the blanket (or great coat) around the upper utility strap. Helmet should be place in a way so the front is facing toward bottom of the pack laying on the top of the mess kit.

Breadbag
Items carried in the breadbag are place in a way so in the main packet are: bread an eating utensils. In the packets: towel, soap and salt packet. The canteen and cup is placed in special packet inside bread bag.

Here is a list of items needed for Civil Defense (ON) soldier:
- Tunic wz.36 (canvas or wool)
- Trousers wz.36 (straight leg canvas or wool)
- Canvas gaiters (if used with canvas trousers instead of putties)
- Rogatywka cap wz.36 (ON could wear metal eagle instead of the embroider one)
- Shirt, white linen pull over white shirt with stand up collar, closed by 3 to 5 small buttons on the front.
- Belt (Regular Polish infantry)
- Pair of ammo pouches (WWI German style undayed)
- Rifle: original Polish wz.29, Polish wz.98a, German WWI GEW 98 or Czech vz.98/22 with WWI slin

- Bayonet frog (polish universal or German WWI)
- Bayonets (appropriate for firearm used).
- Gas mask, Gas Mask with bag wz 32 or French style RSC gas mask ( can has to be painted in khaki color ).
- Bread bag, (either wz 1928 or wz 1933).
- Mess kit
- Canteen,
- Utility straps (natural color leather stitched not riveted) for attachment of greatcoat or blanket and mess kit.
- Blanket in khaki color (U.S. WWI khaki color are aceptable)
- Boots. Only ankle boots! black. Leather sole, hobnails and iron plates on the heels are must.


Typical look of ON Soldier

You will be provided with instruction on how to wear your equipment. ON will not have helmets, shovels or backpacks. Generally speaking ON units were territorial defense units and were not intended to travel far from their base garrisons. However, as we know today many of those units did march a lot. ON is a starting impression and members are expected to get kited out as an infantry soldier as soon as possible.
